I am a writer and filmmaker with a love of the dark and confronting.

Four teenagers who discover a box which tells them the date they will die. A woman who loops in time to seduce her birthfather. A female lawyer who kills and buries one of her trickier clients. All of these characters and more can be found in my work.

I have written seven short films, and directed five of those (see my film page). These films have screened at many local and international festivals, and won a number of awards including Best Short Film at the Canterbury Short Film Festival. I was co-writer of the short feature The Forest, which screened on the ABC, and was released in a local cinema. My directing experience includes many educational videos for community and secondary schools. My feature film script Ruby Red is currently seeking finance in the US through Leslie Rabb Productions, and I also have two local features in development; Violet Town with producer Franziska Wagenfeld, and The Body Corporate, with New Zealand director Geoff Cawthorn http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0147246/filmoseries

My interest in female violence, begun in my Master of Creative Arts thesis, which featured Aileen Wuornos, the American mass murderer, continues (see my writing page). Currently I am collaborating with Dr. Jenny Weight in a novel, a thriller titled Progeny, which features two ordinary women driven to kill.

I am continuing to explore my infertility experience, as featured in the article Babies: how I survived not having one, published in The Herald Sun Weekend, 2009. A short story adapted from this experience was published in The Death Mook, Vignette Press, 2009, and I am working on a biography, which will be both funny and black. This book is provisionally called What the hell is that ticking sound?
